In truth, solitude cannot be reduced to a singular, all-encompassing definition, as it takes on various forms, each with its own contexts, motivations, and trajectories. From this standpoint, we distinguished between voluntary solitude and involuntary solitude, making an effort to clarify the ambiguous configuration this concept has taken in our lived world. To this end, we coined the term “nebulous solitude,” which is neither voluntary nor involuntary solitude. Moreover, we clearly demonstrated how contemplation complements with solitude in its various forms.

In reality, contemplation is founded on solitude, regardless of the form it takes. Indeed, the creative individual relies on deep contemplation that necessitates complete isolation, distant solitude, and reverential awed stillness. On the other hand, solitude provides the solitary person with the opportunity to explore their being, introspect their psychological states, and scrutinize the events of their life. In other words, it allows them to derive insights they would not have reached had they not withdrawn into themselves, distancing themselves from the noise of daily life, the clamor of work, the chaos of demands, and the hordes of problems.
