Ibn Rushd was born in Cordoba in 1126 AD and was a judge, physician, and philosopher. He loved knowledge and studied legal sciences under the leading jurists of his time. He authored the book The General Principles of Medicine. Ibn Rushd is considered one of the staunchest defenders and denouncers of philosophy.
