In fact, Ibn Khaldun’s approach was scientific, analytical, and creative. He did not want to be a philosopher in the manner of the peripatetics, nor a scientist like the mathematicians, nor a historian in the way of the traditional chroniclers. Rather, he genuinely sought to be a philosopher, a scientist, and a historian with a different perspective and a contrasting logic.
