UNESCO has always maintained strong ties with philosophy, not only in its reflective or normative form, but also in its form based on critical inquiry, which offers possibilities for giving meaning to life and action in a global context. UNESCO was born out of the question of the conditions for the emergence of a world of sustainable peace and security. Accordingly, it can be said to be a philosophical institution in its own right, as it proposes itself as a stakeholder in contributing to the preservation of peace and security by emphasizing the priority of education, science, and culture, and by fostering solidarity among peoples to ensure universal respect for justice, the law, human rights, and fundamental freedoms for all, without distinction based on race, gender, language, or religion.
